Just got a call from a "Blocked Number" Here is what came next - Hi Daniel, this is ________ from the business next door, i just got into a fender bender up on the Danforth, I have an event tonight and the delivery guy is out back of the store waiting for me, can you give him $80.00 for me and i will return it as soon as i get back. Hey do you like chicken wings? I said "give me just a minute and I will knock on the window next door" because someone tried this scam on me year...s ago. He then hung up the phone. A few seconds later I noticed a guy walking around the corner who was putting his phone in his pocket. Was it him? Don't know but he sounded very believable on the phone. There was no delivery of coarse, this is an age old scam that is very effective. Be warned of the "Delivery Guy Scam" folks. Take the few step it takes to confirm the information first. If I had given him the money it would have been lost forever.
