TDA UAB CAAPID Tip! University of Alabama (UAB) Interview Advice Continued! Congratulations to our 5 TDA Doctors who successfully completed the lengthy UAB interview this past week! ... For the current cycle, UAB has changed their traditional interview process significantly. The interview now involves a one hour 2 part interview with two senior members of the UAB dental program. This cycle, the UAB interview combines targeted and specific interview questions, clinical knowledge, an evaluation of patient interaction skills, in depth discussion of the interviewees dental portfolio, and integration of radiographic and clinical diagnosis and treatment planning. Out of all of the interviews we have trained Doctors for this cycle (UC, Columbia, UPenn, UMN, etc), Dr. Molla and I have found that UAB preparation is one of the most intensive. One of the most important things that Dr. Molla and I are emphasizing with our current Doctors is to have an impressive, well planned and structured clinical portfolio to present. TDA CAAPID Tip! UPenn Interview Advice: The University of Pennsylvania is one of the best schools in the United States. The interview is challenging but fair in our opinion. It consists of three one on one interviews, the first two interviews being 15 minutes each, and the third being 30 minutes in length. One of the other unique parts of the interview process is the writing exercise, which is conducted while the interviewee is on camera. Perhaps one of the more challenging ...parts of the interview is preparing targeted questions to ask each of the interviewers. Currently, Doctors receiving invitations are being invited on Tuesdays and Thursdays in June and July. Dr. Molla and I have had the pleasure of helping Doctors achieve acceptance to UPenns program for the past four and a half years. In particular, these questions focus on changes in dentistry, both current changes and future changes.
