Dear Community, The Toronto Japanese Language School Board was informed early this morning that the permit to use Orde Street School on December 1st, 2018 has b...een rescinded due to emergency maintenance that constitutes a safety hazard to permit holders. The Board, in consultation with the Interim Principal, is regretfully forced to cancel classes for December 1st. This weekend! 17th annual JCCC NATSU MATSURI AND OBON SUMMER FESTIVAL featuring Tanabata celebrations! The JCCC would like to invite everyone to come out on S...aturday July 14, 2018 for the 17th Annual Natsu Matsuri (3:30 7 pm) and Obon (7 9:30) Festival. Please join us for a lively festival atmosphere with childrens games, vendors, great food (including our famous Somen Bar and our Beer Garden) and spectacular performances. Once again we will also be including Tanabata at this event. Visitors to the festival will be able to participate in activities such as a special Wishing Tree, and there will be more Tanabata activities for children, too. We look forward to the 17th year of this exciting JCCC and Community tradition. We hope to see lots of new and familiar faces. Mark your calendars now! Some highlights of the 2018 Japanese Film Fest...ival include: Japanese superstar actor and filmmaker TAKUMI SAITOHs acclaimed feature directorial debut BLANK 13 makes its Canadian Premiere with Mr. Saitoh in attendance. The film received the Asian New Talent Award for Best Director at the Shanghai International Film Festival. One of the most talented and in-demand young actresses, MAYU MATSUOKA joins the festival for two films: her Tokyo International Film Festival Audience Award-winning TREMBLE ALL YOU WANT and CHIHAYAFURU PART 3.
