The Toronto Palestine Film Festival 11.02.2021

We mourn the loss of Mourid Al-Barghouti. one of Palestine's most celebrated poets and writers. He was the husband of the late Egyptian writer Radwa Ashour and the father of the poet Tamim Al-Barghouti. May he rest in peace. Mourid Al-Barghouti's seminal memoirs 'I Saw Ramallah' and 'I Was Born There, I Was Born Here' are widely available at local libraries and independent bookstores. His work will remain, as the late Edward W. Said described in the Foreword of 'I Saw Ramallah', one of the finest existential accounts of Palestinian displacement that we now have.
