Brian Chatland was a great rugby referee, Markham resident, and a regular at Austin Drive with the Irish on Saturday afternoons, taking the time to coach referees after his refereeing career. Brian was a member of the Canadian Referee Panel. Brian died of cancer a couple of years ago. One of the lines that survives him is standing around looking at referees all afternoon and saying "Valerie thinks I've gone to get groceries". If you get the time please come along to honour his memory and his service in the same way that the City of Markham has done so well.
