IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS! Greetings Folks, I hope that you are all in good health and spirits during these difficult times. I am writing this to inform you all that due to the current situation around COVID-19, the Fighting Arts Collective will not be able to continue to operate in its current form and the FAC executive has voted unanimously to cease operations effective immediately. We will be closing all memberships as of tomorrow (March 31,2020) and begin the proces...s of moving out of our home of the past 15+ years by the end of April. I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for the honor of being your Si-Fu; it is truly the greatest experience of my life and that does not change. The Wing Chun is in our blood, not in a specific place or location. I look forward to a time when we can meet up once again and continue on this journey together. The present situation has given us no other option, our model has never been one of strictly business, and as such our margins have always been very tight each and every month with the reality of expenses in this city. Currently, I am exploring the possibilities of online classes, smaller spaces etc.. but only time will tell and we cannot in good conscience continue to charge for a service we cannot provide. Right now the immediate mission is to vacate 927 Dupont. For those of you who have paid for membership in advance, you have my promise to honor my commitment as much as I am able to do so. Personally, I do not have the physical space for much of our equipment and as such I am open to any offers for Dummies,Kettlebells,Dragon Poles, swords and Training knives, pretty much everything is on the block for a good home. I understand that many of you are also facing serious challenges with respect to the uncertainty of work, business, rent, mortgages and even food and shelter. It is at times like these that our practice can take on a new meaning for each of us. Our community is strong, built on love, compassion,hard work,thirst for knowledge and self-improvement. We will survive and adapt to whatever the world looks like when this all passes. Although this is a very difficult time for me personally, we must respect the rapidly changing priorities we each are facing. Wing Chun has led me through some very dark times in the past, and will continue to do so now. The origins of Wing Chun was to start a revolution, Speak forever springtime or Hope for the future is indicative of difficult times with a desire for change.
