Carson is absolutely rocking his new hairstyle. Plush lion clips are Kim, our cat stylist's, favorite style for thick coated longcoats such as Persians and ragdolls, providing the easy care of a lion clip while showing off the soft and thick coats we all love.

Please do not cut matts out with scissors. While prevention is always better than the cure, if you find your pet has become matted and you are unsure of what to do, please don’t hesitate to ask for advice. Most doodles are very prone to matting, especially around age 8-15 months. Getting them (or any long haired dog) in early (3-4 months) and often (every 4-8 weeks) will help avoid the need for matt removal

Dogs are truly special creatures.

Mandatory mask bylaw is now in effect. Please have your mask on when picking up or dropping off your pets, and choose contactless payment options (etransfer) when possible.

Such a huge problem in the Canine world these days, and we see the suffering the dogs entail as we push them through the grooming process because it’s necessary for their well being, but they just don’t have it in them to stand for us, or support their weight as we have to lift a paw. We often take the brunt of their weight to help them compensate, wearing our bodies down, increasing our risk of work related injury or long term damage. Many groomers also struggle with anxie...ty while grooming these dogs, knowing that the risk of injury from basic and necessary grooming procedures increases in overweight dogs, and groomers will often be blamed for the incident even though it would be completely preventable if the dog was a healthy weight. Food does not equal love. If you love your dog and their groomer, strive for a healthy weight and adequate activity level for your dog.

I am at the salon until 4:30 and am available for nail trims and maintenance trims (face, feet, nails, and sanitary trim), for those that may need them. Nail trims are $15, or $7.50 if you come at least once a month. Maintenance trims are $25-$30

This is definitely the case with most dogs. If a dog is ever showing signs of stress at the groomers, we will recommend a private session groom.

Kylie has an opening today at 10:30 for a medium-large SHORT haired dog for a bath and de-shed. We will throw in a free charcoal scrub (for added moisture and loose hair removal), and give a 10% discount. There’s nothing nicer than a clean dog to cuddle with on cold days.

We had a last minute cancellation from a large dog today! We would really like to fill the spot with something big and hairy but could take a couple smaller dogs instead :) If you can be here soon, please let us know. We would love to groom your dog today!

While I don’t normally open on Saturdays, I am hoping to get a few extra hours of work in this week so I can cover the vet bills for the new salon tortoise who came to us with a few health issues. :). A must watch for everyone with a dog. Yeast is such a common problem, and groomers often get asked what to do about it. (We often get blamed for it too!). Shiny had a hot spot under her left ear. I clipped the area and applied anti-bacterial cream but it started to spread to the rest of her cheek. 3 Microbubble baths in about a week and it is all healed up. :)

We are a little behind (story of my life... I just own it now ;p) but we celebrated our 1 year anniversary on July 8th. Slowly but surely we have been working hard to get this business fixed up! A lot has happened in the last few weeks. We are a few steps closer to our end goal and are excited to share the progress with all of you What an amazing year it’s been. We look forward to sharing many more wirh our wonderful clients! (Don’t worry... the floors are the next goal!)

We have a new member of our Tortoise and Hair family. This little lady needed a new home where she could be properly cared for. We have a temporary set up for her in the salon and will work towards something even better in the future but she is going to be well cared for :) we decided to call her Trillian
