The Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service is a leading-edge police agency that is responsible for the policing and safety of the community of Tsuut’ina Nation. In January 2004, the Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service officially commenced full policing authority for the Tsuut’ina Nation, under Section 5 of the Alberta Police Act. The Program The Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service Youth Services Section is dedicated to making positive differences in the lives of children, youth and their families through age-appropriate education, mentorship, early intervention and unique opportunities, to support to youth between the ages of 6-25 facing multiple risks and barriers to a life of independence. The Position Reporting to the Team Leader, the Youth Outreach Worker will be knowledgeable about the issues and barriers that Indigenous Youth face within the Justice System. This position is a 1 Year contract position with the potential for extension. This position will work within the Youth Services Team to: Provide guidance, support and program supervision to clients; Youth program development; Case management; Advocate for supports that meet the youth’s identified needs and assist youth on self-advocacy; Creation of social and life skill program development; Deal with routine and crisis situations; Maintain a trauma informed approach in meeting and working frontline with clients; Complete all documentation, reporting and case notes as required; Attend staff meetings; Knowledge of housing first, harm reduction and trauma informed care; Create a network with relevant partner agencies to support the needs of the youth and the service; More duties as required by the program and the Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service. Qualifications and Skills ***Please note*** Priority will be given to Community members of Tsuut’ina Nation that meet the below Qualifications and Skills. Minimum Diploma in Human Services, Social Sciences or related discipline; Knowledge and Experience working with Indigenous Youth and Communities; Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of 2 years of direct youth care; High level of personal competence in the formation and maintenance of caring and therapeutic relationships; Ability to engage clients and families in the treatment process; Demonstrated interest, commitment, consistency, and a high level of personal maturity, responsibility and professionalism; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Clear Enhanced Police Check including Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Record Check; Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and ability to drive Agency vehicles preferred (min. 3 years driving experience); Completion of ASIST, First Aid, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Certification with CYCAA would be considered an asset.

Alleged Poacher Found on Tsuut’ina Nation - November 14,2020 While on patrols this afternoon, members of the Tsuut'ina Nation Police Service located one non-nation male poaching Deer on the west side of Tsuut’ina Nation. In partnership with Alberta Fish and Wildlife, the alleged poacher has been charged with; 1 x discharge of a firearm from roadway, 1 x hunting during closed season, 1 x unlawful possession and 1 x Trespassing on Tsuut'ina Nation. ... We are additionally proud to acknowledge that the meat from the deer, did not go to waste. Instead, Alberta Fish and Wildlife Office Mark Hoskin, Cpl. Tim Daley, Cst. Dwyane Cardinal and Cst. Samantha Lowe, cut up the meat and delivered it to 12 families on Tsuut’ina Nation. Poachers are brought to justice because of people like you. Caution driving on Six Mile Coulee Please be advised, there may be cows loose on six mile coulee. The Nations cows got loose from their pasture on cow camp, and they could possibly make their way to 6 Mile Coulee and other main roads throughout Tsuut’ina.
