Just finished the first session of TPI day 2 and I got my screen results back. It identified several areas of weakness including my glute function, single leg balance and rotation of the lower extremity. Addressing those areas on lunch with some corrective exercises. If you're at the gym and it doesn't have the equipment you normally use, improvise Here are 3 variations of a half-kneeling lift with different equipment. This... exercise is functional and is a great way to target trunk stability with upper extremity movement. Ideal for rotational sports or jobs requiring manual labour. Playing around with a push up variation. Adding an unstable surface or an extra movement increases the difficulty of this exercise as you have to work harder to maintain stability. Here's an interesting article looking at the benefits of performing exercise programs for lower back pain, coupled with manual therapy. In short, the study found that people who performed exercise programs experienced a reduction in back pain and disability, with greater results found in a group taught to be aware of and control the movement of their spine.

We are built to move and sitting or standing in a single position for an extended period of time can have detrimental effects on our posture and health. Attached are some great stretches that you can do in the workplace. Numbers 7, 8 and 11 are good ones to give a try!
