It was such a huge success last year. We will have drop off boxes at Foxy Lash Studio, Knee Deep, Revolution Medical Clinic and both Touch Gloves Studios. All these businesses are in High River. Let's say Congratulations to our Kickboxer Of The Month Arlene Howson!!!! So excited!!! My name is Arlene. I was raised in Vulcan, then called Red Deer home after college. Several years, marriage and starting a family we relocated to High River to be closer to home. I have two boys Chase and Spence, other family such as Brittany and a beautiful grandbaby Ellie. I was never athletic in school and even less as an adult. I've gone to other gyms, and even though I liked the train...er, I often felt intimidated because the clientele were younger and I often couldn't keep up or expectations were higher than my ability. Chance has been an awesome trainer and extremely patient with me. Sometimes I think my mind and body don't work on the same track, so often there is a lot of repeating. I'm surprised he didn't give up! With Chance's perseverance I've come a long way in getting stronger and getting in better shape. Chance is very supportive and always makes you feel like you've accomplished something even if you don't feel it yourself. Touch Gloves is a more personal and comfortable space and you feel you are part of a family. I was not sure kickboxing was going to be the workout for me, but Chance helped me feel at ease to try something new! I also do the Fitcamp/Crosstraining classes which mixes cardio, weights and total body exercises. Both are great classes and are helping to keep me healthy and fit. Please help me Welcome our October Cross Trainer Of The Month!!! I am so proud of Pat and her accomplishments. My name is Pat MacDonald and I'm a wife, a mom to 3 amazing adults, and an elementary school Principal. Our family has lived in High River for the past 22 years and we love this community! Throughout my childhood I've always been active and grew up playing a wide variety of sports. As a young mom I took up jogging in an effort to get back into shape, to carve out a ...few minutes in the day for myself and honestly just to keep my sanity. After 20 plus years of early morning runs, I started to experience knee and hip pain and was forced to give up running. A friend invited me to join her for a kickboxing class at Touch Gloves Studio. We tried the kickboxing classes and a few early morning Fitcamp classes. It was personally very gratifying at the end of the day to participate in the kickboxing classes. Being a morning person, the 6am workouts have quickly become a regular part of my routine. I don't always love the idea of getting up and working out early, but this class is the perfect fit for my busy life. I feel energized, stronger and thankful that I've invested some time and energy into me. In turn, I have more to give others. Chance does an excellent job of motivating me while still encouraging me to keep going. Consistency has been the key. I highly recommend Touch Gloves! The atmosphere is a fun one where everyone feels safe, supported and challenged to meet their full potential. See more
