Call for submissions! We want to hear from you about your favourite family or BIPOC owned restaurant in Toronto and what food experiences you’ve been missing during the pandemic. Write your favourite food makers and restaurateurs a love letter by filling out our submission form or submitting a video, audio or visual piece - get creative! See our Eventbrite page to access the submission form and to register for the live event on Saturday December 19th, where we’ll be sharing... these love letters! Submission deadline is Thursday December 17th. https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/127075814181

Registration for our second Dishing Up Toronto event is live! Toronto’s food scene is, and will continue to be, one of Canada’s most diverse. Newcomers across the city help hold up and raise the dynamic world of food, by setting up restaurants, working in kitchens, sharing their recipes, and infusing the city with flavours from all over the world. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the food industry has been heavily affected and has reminded us that a food system is based not sim...ply on ‘moving calories’ but on a set of human relationships. ‘Love Letter to Toronto’s Food & Food Makers’ looks to celebrate and explore these ideas through love letters - from you! Dishing Up Toronto is back! With this year’s theme of Home-made, we’re kicking off with a Dumpling Making Virtual Workshop, hosted by caterToronto director, Vanessa Ling Yu. While you cook along at home, Vanessa will share insights about how people and places factor into culturally appropriate and commercially available foods. This event will enhance your understanding of what we can do to ensure diverse, dignified, and delicious eats in our future of food. Check out the three available options for this workshop (they make great holiday gift options!!)
