Red alert! Today is National Day of Visibility for the Live Events Community. Due to COVID-19, the live events industry has had to cancel a large majority of festivals and events indefinitely, not only in Canada but across the globe. Today, September 22, national venues and landmarks will light up their buildings and marquees in red to not only support the industry, but to send out a ‘red alert’ reminding Canadians that we are still here and ready to work when it is safe to... do so. Tonight, an hour after sundown, join CN Tower / La Tour CN, the City of Toronto - Your Local Government sign, Toronto Waterfront Festival and buildings across the country by lighting up in red to support an industry which remains in the dark. Share how you are lighting up in red today on social media using #LightUpLive & #EclaironsLesScenes https://lightuplive.ca/

Happy Canada Day duckies! Check out the below message we got this morning from World's Largest Rubber Duck! "Hello morning birds! ... Waddle you know!? It’s me, Mama Duck! I wanted to come on the web and take a quack at it to wish you all a HAPPY CANADA DAY! I am so sad I wasn’t able to float in to Toronto’s waterfront this year to celebrate the Redpath Waterfront Festival’s 10th anniversary. I was all ready to rustle up some feathers again and I was really looking forward to a ducking good time (pardon the fowl language). My ducklings and I are already working on a plan to get me beak to Toronto as soon as possible. See you soon and make sure to stay safe if you leave the nest!" Enjoy the firequackers tonight everyone and stay safe!

Redpath Waterfront Festival Toronto 26.05.2020

Due to the current status of the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions on large gatherings, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the return of the World’s Largest Rubber Duck this fall. The Duck was scheduled to return to Toronto’s waterfront June 19-21, 2020, but was postponed to the fall due to restrictions on public gatherings. However, with the overwhelming success of Mama Duck’s visit in 2017, and the large crowds that flocked to the waterfront, festival orga...nizers believe the time is still not right to bring the Duck back, especially given the ongoing regulations on crowds as part of an effort to ensure the health and safety of Canadians. We will continue to work on ideas to celebrate our 10th Anniversary, in a socially distant manner, so please check back for more information. We will also continue to share content on our social channels from the waterfront community and our partners. A big THANK YOU to everyone for their continued support.
