Looking for Steve worked with my mother Linda Villella at Towers in Welland Ontario during the 1970s.

Towers Galleria store (Dufferin and Dupont, Toronto)

Shoplifters expect to be paid In the late 70s, I worked at Towers Department Store in Toronto. One evening, we were introduced to two new hirees in the cosmetics department. About an hour later both were arrested by security for shoplifting. They were stuffing their pockets with cosmetics. Two weeks later, I was approached by the same two girls. One of them asked Do you know where we would pick up our pay cheques? We got fired/quit two weeks ago... I couldn’t believe that they would actually come in and pick up a pay cheque for having worked less than two hours at $4.00 an hour, especially after having been caught shoplifting. Mind you, I couldn’t believe that they would have shoplifted on their first night on the job on the sales floor while stocking shelves (forwarded by anon)
