Please note that after a few residents bringing to our attention that glass they tried to recycle was left behind on recycling days even though the checklist states glass as acceptable. We have contacted Crown Shred and they have advised us that currently, they are not accepting glass for curbside pick up.

Access has notified us that the Virtual Community Christmas Concert will be aired on Access 7 on January 13th at 3:00pm and January 14th at 4:00pm.

Yesterday's Trivia Question: In 1920, when Regina Beach became a Village, how many sat on Council? Answer: Overseer and two Councillors As our most recent term has come to an end, so has the role of many of those individuals who served our town for that term. We are reminded that ALL individuals who have been willing to step up and offer their services to our community should be congratulated and thanked for their dedication and commitment. A special shout out to our most r...ecent members who served many years and whose terms have just ended.Eunice Cameron for serving 5 terms (18 years) as a Councillor, Wes Taylor for serving 4 terms (14 years) as a councillor, and Wayne Romphf for serving 2 terms (8 years); one as a councillor and one as mayor. As we welcome our new council to term, we must also remember to thank all those before them too! And while it will take the new council some time to orient themselves to their new role, we’re sure that with the support from the community it will be a smooth transition. A little bit of history: In 1920 when Regina Beach became a Village, the chairman of Council was known as an Overseer. Council consisted of the Overseer and two Councillors until 1960 when Council began to grow, and it consisted of the Overseer and four Councillors. In 1970, the name Overseer was replaced with the present name Mayor. In 1982, Council increased to a Mayor and six Councillors. Our first woman mayor, Alice Mills, was elected in 1988. In 1920 the Secretary Treasurer was employed by the Village to administer the day to day affairs of Council. Later this person became known as the Village Clerk, and at the present time his position is known as the Town Administrator. Ben Brewer who served 7 years as Mayor, wrote in the history Book As an elected official in a community, one must be aware of the immense responsibilities of his or her office, and with limited resources one has to be able to accomplish goals of any sort! The most important asset is being able to work with others, being able to discuss, being able to have differences of opinion. Being able to work out differences for the betterment of the community and its citizens is far better than using the differences to divide and belittle anyone. New Website Coming! After listening to feedback from residents & some careful consideration, the Town has been busy working on a new & improved website for the past few weeks. A new, custom-designed, mobile responsive website design with more information to ensure more of our residents are well informed. We are looking at ensuring that the information a user is looking for is easy to access and that the site is simple to use. This new website will help provide a great opportunity for enhanced communications. While the website is a very important tool for communications, we realize that there are many other forms of communication as well, and we are working on more improvements. So stay tuned for more changes in the way we communicate.

Our Public Works crew has been been busy working on snow removal today, however, we would like to apologize for leaving snow windrows in front of driveways. The grader wing blade is down and being replaced. It is expected that it will be back in working order by Friday. In the meantime the Bobcat will be going around to clear the windrows in front of driveways as soon as possible. Please be patient while they try to get around to everyone.

Reminder: As of today Masks are Mandatory in all indoor public spaces in Regina Beach, as directed by Public Health Orders declared by the Chief Medical Health Officer of Saskatchewan.
