COVID-19 UPDATE: A state of public health emergency is being declared. New mandatory measures to bend the curve of cases are in effect. * SO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THE RECREATION COMPLEX IN THORSBY? * First off, I would like to thank you all for sticking with us during these challenging times, and continuing to support Thorsby Recreation. There was quite a lot of information released yesterday, so here are the key areas of the recreation complex that will STILL BE FUNCTIONIN...G TO THE PUBLIC DURING THIS TIME: - STAY HOME if you feel sick or have ANY COVID-19 SYMPTOMS. - Gym slots will be allowed to be booked, IN ADVANCE ONLY, and only one person is allowed in the gym at a time. We will have limited slots during this time, and limited hours. To book a gym slot email [email protected] and you will be answered within 24 hours. - Ice slots can still be booked, IN ADVANCE ONLY, and by private family bookings only. What does this mean exactly? Well, you can book an ice slot and only those who reside in your home are allowed on the ice with you during your booking. (EX: Mom, Dad and their children who ALL RESIDE IN THE SAME HOUSEHOLD). To be clear, THOSE WHO RESIDE IN YOUR HOME ONLY. Meaning anyone who does not reside in your home cannot join your family's private booking. To book an ice slot email [email protected] and you will be answered within 24 hours. - Masks are mandatory inside the recreation complex, as per the provincial government mandating this on Nov 24, 2020. - The Library will still be open to the public, with allowing 25% of their capacity in the Library at one time. For their hours of operation or questions please call 780-789-3808. Please visit this website below in order to make reference to the new targeted measures announced by the provincial government yesterday. Also, if clarification is needed please email me at [email protected] and I will do my very best to answer your comments, concerns and questions. Stay safe and healthy, and we are so happy we can still offer minimal services to keep the public healthy physically, socially, mentally and emotionally. We are with you all during this time, and we will get through this together!! - Kristen Szepesy, Thorsby Recreation https://www.alberta.ca/enhanced-public-health-measures.aspx

Christmas Market November 21, 2020, this SATURDAY at the Recreation Complex! With all the crazy going on, we are thankful that we are still able to give our community an option to shop local if they do not feel comfortable going into bigger shopping centres. So if you feel comfortable coming to our market, please do!! We would love and appreciate your support. We have cleared all our protocols with Alberta Health Services and we are fully allowed to run this market.... Here is what we require if you would like to attend; * If you are sick or have ANY SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19, please stay home and do not attend the sale. This goes for vendors AND shoppers. * Masks are required for all partons 2 years of age and older. * Covid-19 risk assessment forms must be filled out for contact tracing reasons. * Hand sanitizer will be required to be used upon entry and exit of the sale. * We ask that social distancing is practiced, and you stay 2M/6FT away from all other shoppers at all times. * There will only be 20 people allowed in the sale at one time. We will do our best to filter through people in a timely manner. * A one way flow will be required once patrons enter the sale, arrows will be displayed on the ground, and signage will guide our shoppers in the right direction.
