The weeks of September 21 to October 9, 2020, have been designated as Fall Clean-Up Weeks. The designated cleanup weeks are to assist homeowners to clean up yard and garden material prior to the winter season. As it is not practical for the cleanup crews to sort compostable refuse from branches and other materials, residents are encouraged to place compostable refuse in the collection bin on Anniversary Road rather than rely on the special pickup crews. During the cleanup per...iod, Town crews will pick up miscellaneous refuse (excluding industrial waste such as building demolition, etc.) not deemed to be normal household waste. Please note that leaves and grass must be in clear plastic bags or boxes and that the pickup of branches is meant only for occasional branches and NOT for major cuttings. All materials designated for pickup must be placed on the boulevard or lane in a convenient location. To ensure pickup, please call the Town Office at (204) 748-2440 or e-mail [email protected] and advise of the type and location of the refuse. This refuse will be picked up as conditions permit.
Be sure to follow the new Town of Virden - Parks & Recreation page!
Missed Recycling Notice Queen Street West residents, if your Wednesday recycling was missed this week, please leave your bins out on Tuesday, September 15 for pick-up.
