I can't believe I have to post about this again. Please be a responsible pet owner and pick up your dog excrement. There has been large amounts of large dog excrement on the side walk on Main Street from 1st Ave all the to the middle of Main heading north. We have dog stations that also have bags, or if your dog is getting out of your yard they are surely going to have to relieve themselves so please go and check. There are so many people that walk up and down the sidewalk its pretty unpleasant. http://www.townofcarberry.ca//Animal-Control-By-Law-Town.p

Town of Carberry & Municipality of North Cypress-Langford 18.08.2020

Hi All, Just wanted to touch base with everyone. We are three-quarters through 2020 (otherwise known as the longest year ever) with Thanksgiving, Remembrance D...ay and the Christmas season rapidly approaching. We've finally had a "normal" fall and harvest was successful for our local farmers. We are still in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic though, and this will continue on for some time. Even if there was a safe and proven vaccine tomorrow it will take time to roll out. We must continue our efforts for the forseeable future and be vigilant. Mask up when you need to. Socially distance when at all possible. Wash your hands and sanitize on a regular basis. There have been and will continue to be cases and contacts to cases within our area. If this happens to you or your household, follow the recommendations set out by the Province. If you need help; be it physically, mentally, or socially, reach out to your neighbours, friends and family. Though each of our individual situations are unique, we are all going through this time together as a community. I want to see each and every one of you make it to the end of this era in one piece, whole, in body and spirit. Thank you for your time! Sincerely, Stuart Olmstead Mayor of Carberry

On September 15th, the McCain Carberry Management Team had the privilege of presenting a $50,000 cheque from the McCain Foundation to support the Carberry North Cypress-Langford volunteer Fire Department. This donation will help with the construction of a new, and much needed, Fire Hall. The Carberry North Cypress-Langford Fire Department is responsible for keeping the Carberry community safe by responding to fires, motor vehicle/farm accidents, and search and rescue for the ...Carberry area. The Fire Department is a vital part of Carberry’s community, and has responded to emergencies at McCain’s Carberry factory since 1961, ranging from chemical spills to fires. Last summer, the Fire Department had one of their buildings condemned, which left them without a place to store various pieces of life saving equipment. Because of the important role they play in the community and safety support they provide to McCain, the Carberry Team stepped up to help. A group of individuals from the Carberry facility led by Marcus Benatti, Plant Administrator, and Bart Witherspoon, Field Manager Potatoes MB, worked with the Fire Department and the Municipality to put together a donation request for the McCain foundation. A few months later, the Fire Department now has the required funds to ensure that their life-saving services will continue in the Carberry North Cypress-Langford area! Stats Canada is Hiring across Canada: The next census will take place in May 2021. With census data, you will not only be able to see which areas within your municipality have experienced growth or decline, but you will also know the characteristics of your population, thereby allowing for the delivery of public services to meet local needs. This information helps your municipality measure and respond to the needs of citizens for housing, transit, schools, infrastructure, an...d the environment. To assist in the collection of the census, Statistics Canada is hiring approximately 1,000 people across the country. If you know of any individuals or groups who may be interested in gaining professional, marketable experience working for the Government of Canada, or has recently been laid off due to the pandemic or other reasons, please help us spread the word about these opportunities. The Census Program has adapted to the COVID-19 situation to ensure that the 2021 Census of Population is conducted throughout the country in the best possible way, using a safe and secure approach. Immediate staffing opportunities: Field operations supervisors train, supervise and coordinate the work of teams of employees conducting field work. Salary range: $61,558 to $66,324. Starting Friday, Sept. 18, the Prairie Mountain Health region will be lowered to the COVID-19 caution level (yellow), according to the #RestartMB Pandemic Response System. This is in response to an improved situation in the region. Masks are strongly recommended but not required and public gatherings will be limited to 50 people indoors and 100 people outdoors. Public health officials continue to monitor all the regions with increased cases closely to determine if additional ...restrictions are necessary. Public health officials strongly encourage all Manitobans to focus on the fundamentals to help stop the spread of COVID-19. This means staying home if you are sick, washing/sanitizing your hands, covering your cough and physically distancing when you are with people outside your household. If you cannot physically distance, wear a mask. Wearing a reusable non-medical mask does not protect the person wearing the mask, but may help protect the people around them. For a mask to be effective, it must be worn properly or it will not prevent the spread of COVID-19. Helpful guidance on wearing a mask can be found at www.gov.mb.ca/covid19/updates/prepareandprevent.html. Unless recommended by Public Health, only individuals experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should go for testing. Individuals with symptoms are asked to seek testing as soon as possible once symptoms are present. Employers are asked to only send employees for testing if they have symptoms or if testing has been recommended by public health officials. The online assessment tool can be found at https://sharedhealthmb.ca/covid19/screening-tool/ and COVID-19 symptoms can be found at www.gov.mb.ca/covid19/updates/about.html#collapse4.
