I’ve said to people before that I’m going to do my very best to make it, I’m not going to give up. But I might not make it if I don’t, the Marathon of Hope better continue. A quote from Terry Fox. 40 years later his Marathon of Hope continues. Run or walk and celebrate Terry Fox Day.

Reminder: Bike helmets protect riders of all ages. The Carstairs Peace Officers would like to remind the public of some cycling safety rules that are legislated by the Province of Alberta. Those operating bicycles must wear helmets when under the age of 18 and ride on the right side of the road. When approaching crosswalks all riders must walk their bikes across as they are then considered pedestrians.... If bikes are ridden through an intersection they must be on the right side of the road and they are then considered vehicles and must obey the same rules, such as stop signs. Fines for these offences range from $97.00 dollars per offence up to $405.00. As your local Peace Officers, we are making efforts to speak to those that have been noted as riding contrary to these and other rules. We are looking for compliance to keep the riders as well as others safe. Arlene Andrews Community Peace Officer
