The Fairview Ski and Snowboard Club is seeking a responsible individual to fill the position of seasonal ski hill manager. The position generally runs from late... fall until early spring. Approximately 30 hours a week (10 hour days on open days, 4.5 hours on Wednesdays when open, and 5.5 hours for other duties - errands, scheduling, board meetings, etc.) Aside from days when the ski hill is open, hours are flexible. The successful candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills. They will have a clean criminal record check (including a vulnerable sector check) and possess a valid standard first aid certificate. They will have a valid drivers’ licence and personal vehicle. Duties of the seasonal hill manager include but are not limited to: Start of season duties: Get rental equipment ready (wax, grease, repair) Get kitchen and water ready for food inspector Get staff hired and trained on lifts and equipment rentals Fill out AEDARSA sheets for permits on lift Help with outside volunteers in getting lifts ready for season Hire kitchen manager or staff Get food for season if no kitchen manager Should have standard first aid and food handling certificate and be able to operate sleds During season: Arrange for hill rentals (schools, youth groups, churches) o get information to schools (Fairview, Hines Creek, Spirit River, Rycroft, Eaglesham, Grimshaw) o organize volunteers for these hill rentals Help with advertising, signs out on downtown streets Staff schedule and time sheets Prepare and repair platters if needed Attend board meetings Maintain cash floats Cash out at end of day and/or train one staff Get tows started and safety checked Upkeep AEDARSA log books Tow maintenance (oil changes, oil levels, greasing drivelines, greasing lift lines) Purchase supplies for kitchen Purchase cleaning supplies Supervise chalet cleaning Please submit resumes by email to [email protected].
