If between January 1 to January 6, you were in Hay River or K'atlo'deeche First Nation (KFN) and at any stage of your self-isolation because you entered the NWT from another jurisdiction, you should get tested now even if you don’t have symptoms. Other situations for testing are included in the attached along with contact information for Public Health. Remember to follow gathering restrictions, physical distance, use facemasks, and frequently wash your hands. https://www.hss.gov.nt.ca//anyone-any-stage-self-isolation

A quick reminder for those to remember to use their turn signals when operating motor vehicles whether on or off-road. It may just save your life, and prevent the frustration of yourself and others. NWT Motor Vehicles Act Sections 200 and 201 require driver’s to use a turn signal when operating a vehicle on our roadways. The fine for non-compliance is $58 and 2 Demerit points. As always, if you suspect someone is driving impaired or engaging in other dangerous driving behaviors, contact the RCMP at 867-874-1111.

Wednesday January 13th at Complex the vaccine will be taking place 9am-8:00 pm 18 years and older, member of KFN living On/off Reserve and non-members who res...ide on the reserve and are a NWT resident come get your first vaccine shot. Call Betty, Annie or Violet for a ride if you need one at 874-6701. The Homecare and employees will be on location if you need support and if any additional questions we have nurses that are available PLEASE BRING YOUR ID, NWT CARE CARD, STATUS CARD OR PROOF OF YOUR ADDRESS

Eligible residents should call 874-8400 for a vaccination appointment.

As advertised in the local newspaper for 2 weeks, there was an error on the date, the public meeting is on MONDAY, January 11 (not Tuesday). Any person who believes they will be affected: 1. May attend the hearing noted above; or... 2. May submit their comments in writing to the Town Hall. See more

Happy Holidays Hay River! Here is the Town Hall Holiday Schedule. -Town Hall would like to wish everyone a Safe and Warm Holidays.

The GNWT has reduced the speed limit on Highway 2 between the Visitor Information Center and Tri-Service Park access from 60km to 50km. This is a measure to reduce traffic speed for pedestrians crossing the highway. Please obey the signs in that area. Thank you.
