Sharing cheer is a great way to warm the hearts of others and to uplift spirits this winter. Help us spread kindness around Penhold by doing kind things. Let us know how you spread cheer to warm someone’s heart or what kindness you received to warm your own heart. Share your stories and photos on this post using #ProudlyPenhold to be entered to win the weekly prize.
We hope Penhold residents have enjoyed getting their care packages today. We had a lot of fun putting them together and delivering them! Thank you to Penhold Public Works, Community Peace Officers, Penhold Volunteer Fire Department, and The Central Alberta Crime Prevention Centre - CACPC for helping to deliver them.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PENHOLD RESIDENTS: In follow-up to Premier Kenney’s announcement regarding COVID-19 updates yesterday, November 25, the Town of Penhold will be making the following adjustments to its operations. Effective immediately: 1. All group fitness classes are cancelled. Fitness Centre will remain open with COVID-19 restrictions in place. 2. All drop-in and organized programs in the Multiplex have been cancelled. Families are encouraged to contact the Town Of...fice to book gym times for those living under the same roof. 3. All organized sports in the Arena have been cancelled. Families are welcome to contact the Town Office to book ice times for only those living under the same roof. 4. Penhold Youth Club (PYC) will return to virtual programing as of Thursday Nov. 26. These are definitely challenging times for our community but we encourage everyone to keep community spirit alive and well in Penhold. It is more important than ever to stay connected within our community. Now is the time to join in fun and safe week long activities and challenges planned during Community Christmas, make your favourite recipe and deliver it to a neighbour and enjoy mild winter days and experience the wonders of the outdoors. Penhold is a very strong and supportive community. We are fortunate to have families who look out for one another and would ask everyone to continue being there for one another as we maneuver through these exceptional times. Our Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) team are available to provide support and resources so please reach out by phone or through the website. As Mayor Mike Yargeau says, While showing kindness to someone might not change the world, it could change the world for someone. Stay strong Penhold, this pandemic will not last forever and when we come out the other end we will be more resilient than ever. We will re-evaluate these changes before the New Year and as AHS amends the COVID-19 restrictions. Get exposed. Get notified. Download Alberta’s contact tracing app: ABTraceTogether. ABTraceTogether is a mobile contact tracing app that lets you know if you've... been exposed to COVID-19 or if you've exposed others while protecting your privacy. ABTraceTogether has been updated, and is directly integrated into our contract tracing system, making it the most effective tool for reducing the spread of COVID-19. Since we could not have the community events we usually would this year, we have created a care package for the you to enjoy instead. Town Council and staff hope your Winter Warm-Up Care package helps bring warmth and kindness during these uncertain times. (If you haven't received your package yet, please be patient; crews are out delivering throughout the day today.

November 23, 2020. Effective immediately Drop-in Kid’s Gym, Drop-in Family Skate and Drop-in Pickleball programs have been suspended with the Town of Penhold. Due to the increasing COVID-19 case numbers and Red Deer County being added to the enhanced watch list we have made a pro-active decision to take a break from these activities at this time. We will re-evaluate this decision in December and continue to keep the community updated on any further decisions. Thank you and we appreciate your understanding!
