Hello, Rocky Mountain House. Thank you for your patience while we assessed the new provincial public health restrictions announced yesterday. Of note: Essential... Municipal services will continue. Masks are now mandatory in indoor public places, including all Town facilities. The Credit Union Co-op Aquatic Centre and Christensen Sports and Wellness Centre will remain open until the evening of Saturday, Dec. 12. As of Dec. 13, these facilities will be closed to the public in accordance with provincial public health restrictions. Current Rocky Pass-holders will have their memberships suspended for the duration of the closure. (Refunds are available on request. Please call Guest Services at 403-845-3720 to request a refund). Social gatherings of all sizes are prohibited. Outdoor parks and trails remain open. Please stay distant from other households, and wash or sanitize your hands before and after use. The Credit Union Co-op Aquatic Centre will remain open until 5:30pm on Saturday, Dec 12th, 2020. Lessons and all swims will remain as is for the remainder of the week. Report cards for Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday classes will be handed out this week. Monday and Wednesday report cards will be available for pick up at the pool front desk after 9am on Friday, Dec 11th with the last class canceled due to the closure. Plans are being made to reschedule winter swim le...ssons, updates on this will be posted on www.rockymtnhouse.com Masks are mandatory in all "dry" areas of the building. You may leave them in your bag during your swim. Town recreation facilities will be closed to the public starting Dec 13th. Memberships will be paused until we reopen.

The sun is shining, the mercury is (kind of) rising, and the Rocky Spray Park down at the new Cooperative Park is up and running! We invite the community to check it out this week, from noon to 6 p.m. daily until Sept. 21. The site is still fenced (to protect the sod) but there is a carpeted access to reach the spray pad from behind the Lou Soppit Community Centre. Please observe the COVID-19 protocols and signage in place at this time, and ENJOY! The park will be winterized next week, so take advantage of this early preview while you can! The count down is on - the pool is scheduled to reopen in 10 days! All Rocky Pass memberships that were suspended in March will be reactivated on Aug. 31, or on the pass-holder's first visit to the fitness centre, whichever comes first. Last week a major step in the Co-operative Park project was completed, as the concrete pad was poured! Check out this video of the concrete being poured and the finished product. The concrete pad will be surfaced with a recycled rubber product. Work continues this week with the pumphouse building being framed. Have you seen the progress at the park so far? ... The Fitness Centre in the Christenson Sports & Wellness Centre will be closed Sunday, August 2nd, and Monday, August 3rd for the August Long Weekend.
The power will be going off July 30, 2020, at 1:00 pm at the Christenson Sports and Wellness Centre. Fortis is changing out the transformer on the south side of the building and has scheduled this power outage for 4 hours.
