The Sussex Sawmill has initiated the work necessary to complete an investment of $15,000,000 to upgrade this facility and to implement a modernization of an important economic driver in the greater Sussex Region. This Notice to all patrons who enter Town of Sussex owned buildings currently open to the Public is in response to the Changes to the Mandatory Order announced today by Premier Higgs, effective midnight tonight, October 08, 2020. Masks will become mandatory in most indoor places and will include: public spaces where the public and employees interact (retail businesses, malls, service centres, places of worship, restaurants and bars except while eating, etc.) and organized i...ndoor gatherings in public spaces (e.g. weddings, funerals, etc.); common areas like lobbies, elevators and hallways, and public shared spaces including those in private sector and government workspaces; and public transportation. Continuous mask use is still required in seated venues with one metre physical distancing. Previously existing mask policies continue to apply in hospitals, health care settings, public schools and early childhood learning facilities. As approved by the Pandemic Task Force, children under two are exempt from wearing masks, as well as those with a medical condition that prevents them from wearing a mask.

FLOOD MASTER PLAN - The Town of Sussex and the Village of Sussex Corner will provide and present their findings following their joint efforts in developing a Flood Master Plan for both communities at a Public Presentation of the final study document to be held on Thursday, September 10th, beginning at 6:30 PM at the 8th Hussars Sports Centre arena floor, 8 Leonard Drive, Sussex, NB. The Town of Sussex’s and Village of Sussex Corner’s engineering consultant will be onsite to r...eview the contents of the Study. This event will be held in compliance with the Town of Sussex’s COVID-19 Operational Plan and event seating will be setup to practice and maintain social distancing during all times. The Town of Sussex and the Village of Sussex Corner will post the Flood Master Plan Study and its contents on their websites immediately following this public presentation, and will seek public comments on the study’s findings. The Town of Sussex and the Village of Sussex Corner would request residents interested in attending to preregister by calling 432-4540 during normal business hours, Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
