DYK there are three pedestrian crossovers in the Township of Asphodel-Norwood? Crossovers are different from crosswalks in that crosswalks are often found at an intersection with traffic signals, pedestrian signals, or stop signs; whereas crossovers are designated pedestrian crossings in the roadway, usually not found at an intersection. Pedestrian crossovers have:... Stop for Pedestrians signage; Ladder style pavement markings in the crossover area; and Triangle yield lines (i.e. shark's teeth) on each approach indicating where drivers and cyclists need to stop. When you approach a crossover (found either on Alma Street, near the Community Centre entrance, or on County Road 40 in the Township of Asphodel-Norwood) and see a pedestrian waiting curbside, be sure to stop behind the marked triangle yield lines and allow the pedestrian time to cross the entire width of the road before proceeding. #antownship #anpublicworksannouncement #keepingyouinformed
