Update: In regards to 2021 Winter Sessions... Let’s wait and see .

Town Yoga 11.12.2020

Spending some time at the studio today. Watering and talking to my plants Soulful music is filling the space and it feels peaceful...in this moment. My message to all of you this winter season is ... I hope, deep in my bones, you have a peaceful, lovely holiday. I hope you Feel YOUR feelings when you feel them. I hope you know it’s okay to grieve and shed some tears during this holiday, for people, for your traditions, for ease and freedoms. AND to also be in joy, to laugh, to be inspired, to relish in the quiet and in the slow, to recognize new traditions and rituals. Love to you and those you hold dear. Let’s ‘Go Forward, To Better’ in 2021+, together. Sat Nam Marcia

Have a Teen at home or you are a Teen? This is for you Jan. 132027 & Feb. 31017 ... Girls* 9th-11th Grades 7:00-8:00 Anxiety, Pressure, Depression, Collective Trauma, Uncertainty, Feeling disconnected....? (Or not) 2020 has been harsh, frustrating, lonely, isolating, to name a few AND it’s forced us to slow down, dig deep, shift, be flexible,to be grateful for all the little things (and so much more). Or maybe you’ve just survived. I’m proud of you. I believe teens have not been given the GRACE, RESPECT and ACKNOWLEDGEMENT for their roles and sacrifices during 2020. Marcia at Town Yoga is offering a safe space for ‘Circle’, each week, we will: Explore a ‘theme’ which will guide us to discussion and or light journaling. ‘Tune In’ with an Affirmation practice and Wellness Check In. Introduce and practice breathing exercises, yoga poses and movement, while honouring personal abilities physically and mentally. Class will end with a Guided Meditation to help student to relax and connect back to breath. In addition to practicing yoga stretches or poses, children's yoga classes often include yoga games, stories, mini-meditations, creative visualizations, art, journaling and learning about the body. Yoga for children is different than adult yoga because the postures are practiced in a more playful way and not held for long periods of time. Most organized physical activity is either competitive or goal-oriented. Yoga gives children an arena to better understand their bodies and appreciate them exactly as they are. In a fast-paced world, and more specifically, managing through this global pandemic we are collectively experiencing, yoga helps children discover a peaceful sanctuary within. Yoga is more than exercise. It is an ancient practice and philosophy. Some of the values of yoga are truth, non-greed, simplicity, non-violence, self-discipline, self-study and contentment. Because yoga is not a religion, people of all faiths can enjoy both the physical and non-physical benefits of the practice. Instructor Marcia Spencer, R.E.C.E., RYT Kundalini, RCYT Heartrise, is an interdisciplinary yoga instructor, workshop facilitator, Kindergarten Educator, and parent. She creates a supportive and joyful space for children to be who they are. * open to all genders, AND AGES 7 -13 Wednesdays NOVEMBER 4 11 18 25 See more
