Great article. For people that need or want the flexibility of working from home as opposed to being in the office Mon-Fri, 9-5 its imperative employers and managers see that. Companies lose a lot of great talent for not being flexible. They are worried about employees slacking off, being less productive at home. Its a fair and logical fear of giving an employee that freedom. Having said that, I believe whether that employee is at home or at the office, they will show thei...r true colours regardless. Yes, they may be more obvious and prevalent quicker if they work from home. However, that should be a win win - you get rid of a bad apple sooner rather than later AND your employees that do work get to reap the benefits of a flexible work schedule or environment. Umbrella coverage is in my mind, mandatory for a lot of Canadians! It increases your liability insurance where your individual liability coverage on your home or auto wouldnt be sufficient enough. In most, if not all, it is a cheaper option than upping your liability coverage on your policies individually. Necessary article for the world we live in. Everyone wants to buy online. One day shipping. Somethings, just arent meant for it. Insurance, in my opinion, is one of those things. Lets be honest, insurance lingo is straight gibberish. And was so to me before getting into the field. Coverages you may need may not be added with an algorithm insurance product. You may see a coverage for $150 more a year and figure you dont need it, suffer a loss and are not properly covered.... Please! It still amazes me that the provincial government has not yet made changes to the minimum liability laws for personal auto. I urge all my clients to take 2 million let alone 1, the provincal average. Increasing your liability also protects you against people who dont have enough liability insurance. Ontario Auto is in a very tough spot right now. A lot of people are under insured for the simple fact they cant afford the proper coverage. I hope the Provincial government and insurers can somehow formulate a plan that works for both the insurer and insured. Accident benefits is a very high percentage of each premium. That has to change. Another thing that has to, which is kind of contradictory; is there needs to be an increase in coverage of accident benefits. The last tim...e there was an increase was 1994 if Im not mistaken. Only decreases. And people are very under insured in this aspect. Ask your broker, agent about accident benefits.
