The Halifax Institute of Traditional and Early Music Presents: Online Presentation and Workshop with Sophie Larivière, recorder and lecturer The French-style Suite versus the more international Sonata 4:00pm Sun. Jan. 10, 2021... We are pleased to welcome back guest artist Sophie Larivière to present this workshop focusing on the differences between the French suite and its influence on musicians in the Baroque era versus the famous sonata that was spreading across Europe. This event will be of particular interest to instrumentalists, and participants are invited to have instruments handy if they wish to try out some of the musical ideas presented.
