Best. Biking. Day. Ever. Seriously, this section of trail from Newmarket to Holland Landing has been redone and it’s to die for. Ok time for a #truthbomb (Jenny Woodhouse here), I haven’t had as much time to post this summer as I thought I would. It has been THEE best summer ever with my kids, but, I was totally naive. I thought because I was off on extended maternity leave, I would have all of this time to post and share, here’s the real story: This. Is. The. Hardest. Work. ...Ever. Let’s be honest, you plan, you pack, you re-pack, you turn around for stuffies. You get lost, you drop your selfie stick in the mud, your kid has a poo explosion all over your carrier, your battery dies because you’re using Spotify, Instagram, Facebook, camera and MapMyHike all at the same time. I realized about a third of the way through the summer, I can only do what I can do. Breathe. I can only do what I can do. I learned to be okay with not attracting more followers, not covering as many kms, not taking as many photos and not making as many posts, because I chose to CHILL and enjoy little moments that came my way. Instead I chose to breathe, walk slower not further, take more in, take selfies and share conversation with my kids, listen more and soak up the sun. Because of this, I don’t have as many posts as I thought I would by this time in the summer, but I can honestly say, this is by far my favourite summer I HAVE EVER had. I can always work to grow Trailbird Collective, oh, and trust me, I will build it!!! But at my own pace and my family will always come first. For now, join me in putting down your phone and rolling around with your kids in the grass for a bit! Remember, time flies and so will your little a one day!
