An eastern visitor came roaming our way. Central Maine & Quebec #1006 is a leased locomotive that came under CP control when Canadian Pacific bought the Central Maine and Quebec railway. Now these CMQ units roam far afield, no longer restricted to the eastern seaboard.

Work In Progress - With the new Parrish & Heimbecker grain elevator under construction in the background, a CN intermodal train races around a curve outside Dugald, Manitoba.
A SPOT OF COLOUR - CN's BC Rail heritage locomotive #3115 provided a spot of colour on the wintry Canadian prairie, leading train X108 eastward toward Winnipeg on the first day of 2021. Happy new year, everyone!
EARLY BIRDS - The train crew got up early to take this eastbound container train out of Winnipeg before sunrise. Seen just east of Dufresne, the train is heading toward the US border for a brief dip into the USA before returning to Canada to continue east.
