This week’s workout challenge!
I feel that many of you wonder why it is important to work on mobility. What is mobility? Mobility is the ability to move a joint in its full range of motion with control (stability) Below is an excellent diagram of how our joints should be working together in both stability and movement. Over time because of poor posture or lack of movement, many of us will develop stiffness in our mobility joints making our stabile joints compensate or do part of the work. This can ...lead to injuries and pain in the stable joints as they are not designed to be mobile. Lumbar pain for example may be an indication that is is overcompensating for stiff hips. This is why I work on mobility and stability in each of my classes. Let’s continue to prevent injuries, feel good when moving and be able to do everyday activités without pain.

Hi everyone! I worked hard on this so please continue to read and let me know your comments There definitely isn’t a lack of online workout videos out there... right now but there is not much on mobility. I consider mobility as important if not more than actually working out. If you don’t have optimal mobility you 1- are probably not doing the exercises properly 2-are not getting the full benefit of the exercise and 3- could even hurt yourself while doing it improperly. Mobility exercises also give more proprioception, the ability to sense how your own body moves and positions itself. So that is why it’s important to incorporate mobility/dynamic stretching exercises everyday- first thing in the morning and before workouts is the best. You will feel amazing the rest of the day. Below is a little mobility/stretching routine that you can use. How to perform: Morning wakeup routine or before a workout: Complete in a dynamic fashion as in the video holding each pose no longer than 15 secs. Repeat 5-8 times per side.
Hi everyone! I’ve missed you! Yes it’s been awhile but I’m back! With gyms closed again I will be doing a series of workouts using only résistant bands you can find at the dollar store! Go at your own pace - I do 20 per exercise but do what you can! Hope you enjoy!
