Today marks the Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord. "And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain apart. And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his garments became white as light." [Mt 17:1-2]

Happy feast of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist. John the Baptist was the forerunner to the Lord Jesus and his mother, Elizabeth, was six months pregnant when the Angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she would give birth the Lord (Luke 1:26-47). Which is why St-Jean-Baptiste and the Nativity of Jesus (Christmas) are six months and a day apart, each coinciding with a solstice and the birth of Jesusthe lightis celebrated as we come out of the darkest day of the year. ...
