Let's open up this conversation! What have you been feeding your body since we've been placed in lockdown??? If you have been indulging in sugary and processed foods, you may be noticing feelings of lethargy, foggy headedness, and anxiousness. These foods fill our guts with unnecessary components which do not help to nourish the brain. Women over the age of 30 need to lift weights!!!! Well, anyone over the age of 30 should develop some type of strength training regime at least 3 times a week. As the body ages (30 years and beyond), it begins to lose 1 pound of lean mass per year. If that lean mass is not maintained, it turns into you know what.... FAT! For those who are worried they may develop bulk from lifting weights......please know that this is pure myth. If you train with weights the right way, yo...u will begin to see your body become leaner, stronger and more fit. We have all been gifted our chronological age. However, I believe we can change our biological age through strength training and building some good old muscle! Not just to look younger but to feel younger!!! I personally think that the "feeling" young trumps the "looking" young I'm 43 and I still love to climb on the monkey bars with my kids!!!! The news just put out a report saying that it is ok to gain "the covid 15". I really can't believe that they are encouraging people to become unhealthy! Not only that, eating processed foods high in sugar and fat will only lead to feeling lethargic and depressed If we all want to come out of this feeling healthy and positive, we need to do the exact opposite of what this news report is telling us to do..... -Exercise to release happy hormones to the brain. -Eat whole fresh foods to support a healthy gut. -Mantain the mindset that this will be over and we will get back to our normal lives at some point. -Put your JEANS on every day!!!!
