The travel industry is heartbroken. Travel agents are heartbroken. We are putting on a brave face, we are advocating for our clients, we are fighting for our industry to stay alive, and for almost a year now, we have been mainly working without pay. I want my fellow agents to know that you can be scared, sad and anxious, you can also be brave, hopeful and resilient. Restrictions are both necessary and devastating. Our industry, our family’s finances and our work stability ...have all been completely destabilized over the past 10 months and likely for many more months to come. We are working in a time and in an industry that will soon be a history lesson for our children’s children. We need to advocate for ourselves, we need to strengthen our bonds and be there for one another. We will get through this together and people will wanderlust again, more so than ever because we have all realized that life is fleeting and things we take for granted can disappear in an instant.
