This is what the $2500 donation from McLeish Orlando was able to purchase towards our Opportunity Centre food bank for clients who have a hard time making ends meet, especially during the pandemic. Thank you again for this generous contribution!
Be safe out there people. Safe from substances that may cause serious harm or even death. COVID is not the only epidemic.
Congratulations to our partner @StonehengeTC on their 50th anniversary and the brand refresh that accompanies the celebrations. Thank you for doing such amazing work in our region for people who cope with #addictions and mental health issues.
As a response to COVID-19, the Government of Ontario is currently funding MindBeacon's Therapist Guided Program, making it available to Ontario residents free of charge via www.mindbeacon.com/ontario. MindBeacon will now offer Canadians a full spectrum of digital mental health support ranging from digital therapist-guided programs, live therapy sessions (i.e. tele-video), immediate crisis support in partnership with Kids Help Phone and a range of free mental health resources... through an online community. The simple process begins with a homepage asking Canadians 'How are you feeling today?', after which the platform helps guide individuals to the support best suited to their needs. https://youtu.be/78LKS76BORk If you are looking for other mental health supports for your situation, call 2-1-1. 211 is a helpline for information and referrals to Ontario's community and social services. We answer the helpline 24/7. See more
This is true, but what happens when you get angry at yourself for these same things. Brain injury - it's certainly complicated. ~D

The clients and staff at the Traverse Independence group home have been doing Christmas crafts. They made beautiful Santas to decorate for the holidays. Well done crafters!
November is @FallPreventionMonth
This is such an important first step. Housing for people with disabilities, is very hard and sometimes impossible to find on a limited income.
Today we remember all of those who fought to preserve our freedom. We also think of all of the men and women who have come back to us but now live with an injury that has changed their lives. We will be forever thankful for your service.
Our Traverse social committee made special treat bags for the kids of our staff. This lovely home made card shows how much it was appreciated. Nice pumpkins drawings too!
How does the COVID-19 virus transmit? When and in what settings does transmission take place? Listen to the WHO experts explain it in really clear language.
Happy New Year from all of us at Traverse Independence!
An act of kind generosity from the Phommasenh family, the Champathongs and friends, and Elite Team Realtor will allow us to put together some seasonal care packages for clients who really need a helping hand in this pandemic holiday season. We cannot thank them enough for thinking of our clients in this time of need.
