Yunnan Imperial Golden Bud is one of our all-time favourite black teas! Smooth, rich flavours of cocoa make this a perfect morning tea for those who want a little kick to start the day. Hello! I’m Brigitte (pronounced bri-zheet, like the French version of Bridget). Thought I would pop on here and introduce myself as the person behind the social media activity. I’ve worked at Treasure Green for 2 years in the past and now, I’m back running the operations of the retail store! I start every morning with a cup of tea. Lately my go-to is our Jade Iron Buddha. Just perfectly refreshing to start the dayOver the 2 years of working here, I’ve also picked up a thing or two about traditional Chinese tea. 5 steps to brewing tea with a gaiwan! 1. Grab your tea. Today, we’re brewing our exclusive Treasure Green Emerald Silver (it’s a favourite!) 2. Portion the tea into the gaiwan. We’re using a glass gaiwan because it’s best suited for light green teas like this one. 3. Gently pour the water in. We’re using 80 degree water so we don’t burn the leaves. 4. Push aside the lid of the gaiwan and pour out the tea. If you’re new to using gaiwans, this may take some practice.... 5. Enjoy! See more

Everyone’s got their own story with tea. A unique journey into the intricate world of tea across many places and cultures. We’re starting a little tea library at our Chinatown tea shop. We hope to fill it with books about tea to share with one another, starting with this one! Teatime Around The World by Waissbluth & O’Byrne. What a treat it is to learn from a 2nd generation tea master. If you’re new to Treasure Green, you may not know that our tea shop first opened its doors in 1981. That expertise and passion for tea was passed on from our original founder, Mr. Cheung, to his daughter, Olivia. Olivia is Treasure Green’s tea master and if you’re lucky, you can catch a tasting with her in our newly renovated store!

And here it is. We’ve been waiting for this moment for months, and for Olivia - it’s been years! Olivia always had a vision for a wall of pigeon hole shelves filled with her favourite tea accessories and tools. The store is feeling complete! #renovations
