Hello, everyone. Treasures will be open until 3 pm on Christmas eve, and then we'll be taking a little break until the new year. We wanted to take this opportunity to tell you all how touched and overwhelmed we are by your support always, but especially over the last year. It has been a year like no other, and your loyal support of not only us, but our hardworking artisans has moved us immensely. We have no words to describe how grateful we are. "Thank you" just doesn't seem... like enough. Every difficulty comes with some positive, and we think that the growing appreciation for things like family, close friends, local business, and simple joys are some definite positives that have come out of this current challenge. We want you to know that your support has not gone unnoticed, and we are blessed. We'll put our feet up for a few days, pivot once again, and come back in early January ready to serve you all in any capacity that we can. Our wish for you all is that the peace, joy, beauty, and light of the holiday season stays with you throughout the coming year. Well, winter has definitely made an appearance! We have lots of locally handmade fleece-lined, recycled sweater mittens in all kinds of colours. These mitts are field tested and approved--we both own several pairs, and they're toasty warm! We love these mitts! At only $29 a pair, they make a GREAT gift, and you'll definitely want a pair for yourself, too!

When our artisans heard that we were all about "snowmen" this season, they really came up with some great ideas! We are in LOVE with these adorable pottery snowman candle luminaries by Nancy! Most of them are the perfect size to fit over our small Country Home Candle jars, and also look awesome with a beeswax tealight placed inside! They go over the candle, so lighting and maintaining the wick is so easy, and no mess! Speaking of adorable, how cute are these snowmen mugs by Esther?! Something witchy is brewing! We have eerily delicious mulling spice that comes in little sachets for that perfect Halloween witches' brew (or Christmas concoction!) Here's our Easy Witches' Brew Recipe! Ingredients: ~Equal parts apple cider (or good apple juice) and cranberry juice... ~1 sachet mulling spice ~ 1tbs lemon juice for every 4 cups of juice/cider used Mix all ingredients in a pot and simmer, covered, over low heat for about 20 minutes. Remove sachet and serve. You can place a slice of orange or apple in each cup before you pour the brew in. You can also "spike" the brew with an ounce of bourbon, whiskey, or brandy (or a combination) in each mug. Enjoy! See more

We carry Roothams products, including one of our favourites: delicious Cranberry Apple Chardonnay chutney! Cranberry and apples - with just a splash of Chardonnay add up to a tart and sweet treat! Serve as a side with curries, chicken, turkey (hint: Thanksgiving is only a month away!), mix with mayo for a sandwich spread, use inside a grilled cheese sandwich, serve with cream cheese & crackers...there are so many ways this chutney can be used! Heres a super easy recipe f...or gorgeous fall veggies: Chutney Glazed Roasted Sweet Potatoes or Winter Squash: Preheat the oven to 400 F/204 C. Peel and seed the winter squash or scrub the sweet potatoes clean (no need to peel them). Chop the potatoes or squash into 1-inch chunks. Spread a sheet of parchment paper in a roasting pan. In a large bowl, combine the veggies with the Roothams chutney, using about 1/4 cup chutney per 2 pounds of vegetables. Transfer to the roasting pan and spread into an even layer. Roast until the sweet potatoes or squash are tender, about 30 to 40 minutes. Enjoy!

We now have garlic honey from Nith Valley Apiaries! This honey is loaded with organic garlic that Nith Valley grows themselves! What do you do with garlic honey, you ask? Well, if you feel a cold coming on, you can eat it by the teaspoon, or add it to your tea, but its also great to use in recipes! Heres a recipe for Honey Garlic chicken that youve just GOT to try! Ingredients... 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts salt, black pepper, and garlic powder 1/4 cup flour 2 tbsp olive oil 1 tsp minced garlic (optional) 2 tbsp sliced green onions 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds Honey Garlic Sauce 1/2 cup garlic honey 1/4 cup light soy sauce 2 tbsp olive oil 1 tbsp hoisin sauce Instructions for Honey Garlic Sauce: Whisk together garlic honey, light soy sauce, olive oil, and hoisin sauce in a small bowl. Set aside for later. For chicken: Cut boneless, skinless chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces. Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Put the chicken pieces in a gallon sized plastic bag. Add the flour, close the top of the bag, and shake the chicken to coat it evenly with flour. Heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the flour coated chicken. Cook for about three minutes, flip the pieces over and cook for another three minutes. Add the (optional) minced garlic, stir and cook for two minutes. Turn the heat down to medium. Add the honey garlic sauce. Stir and cook for 4-5 minutes, until sauce is thick and bubbly. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve over rice. Bite-sized pieces of broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, carrots or peas can also be added to the pan when cooking the chicken for honey garlic chicken stir-fry! Enjoy!

That means yo...u do not have to pay the meter or machine, but maximum parking time limits remain in effect. If you are parking in an area with a 4-hour limit, you must move your vehicle before that 4-hour time limit has expired. Failure to do so could result in a parking ticket being issued.
