You may have noticed that both our name and logo feature a tree. There’s a story behind that. When I moved in to my home, an impressive wind-blown pine tree dominated the landscape of the yard. This tree has played a part in my life and love of Three Fathom Harbour. When I got married, all our wedding pictures were taken under this particular tree. The logo is based on a hooked rug of our property that my husband’s grandmother made for us as a wedding present. However, for the last few years (this is being written in 2014) the tree has been subject to significant degradation, due I guess, to the harsh conditions that living by the ocean can entail. It is foreseeable that there will come a day when this tree is no longer a visible detail at our home. This is why I pay homage to that tree in this way.

Our products include Three Fathom Harbour and locally-grown horticultural items. Each season we are experimenting with vegetables, fruits, legumes, herbs, whole grains, seeds (both for eating and growing) and transplants. Specific products that are available will be updated here regularly. We also offer a variety of farming related services that you might not have thought of before. Get to know me: Owner and farmer, Colleen Prentice. I’ve lived in Three Fathom Harbour since 2003. My love of my home and the outdoors are what have led me to choose farming as an occupation. It is a role that has great significance to me. My background in organic farming, seed saving and experience growing food on the Eastern Shore, is what I would like to make available to you. As my customer, I want to grow what YOU want on my farm.
