Santa Clause is making a special trip to Treherne December 19th with the help of the Norfolk Treherne fire department. Please be safe and follow all provincial health orders when you come out to wave at the big guy himself!

With 2020 almost wrapped up (thankfully) it's time to get those garbage fees paid up! Not sure if you've paid? Send us a message and we'll let you know. Know that you haven't paid and need to? Well your in luck, this year we have 3 ways to pay. You can pay by cheque made out to Treherne Kinsmen club and mailed (box 59 Treherne), drop off the cheque at Metcalfe's Garage or new this year you can etransfer your payment to [email protected]! You must put your address ...on the memo part of the cheque or the notes part of the etransfer in order for us to know where we have to pickup. The cost is $125 for the year with the funds raised being donated back into the community. Please have your BAGGED garbage at the curb by 9am Saturday morning, a little earlier never hurts. Also please avoid putting it out overnight to prevent animals from decorating your yard. Please like and share this post to get the word out and maybe save your neighbour from the naughty list Thank you for your continued support

The Treherne Kinsmen club has wrapped up another year of volunteering in the community but not without wrapping up a couple projects in town. Back in May the guys got together one evening to plant a few trees at the Treherne Elementary school. This project was put in motion after an act of vandalism destroyed a tree on the grounds as well as caused other damage. Needless to say our group of guys were disappointed to hear about this senseless act and stepped up immediately to ...help with repairs. Great job fellas. Over the last couple years the club has also been working to help improve the grounds at the cenotaph in Treherne. With a bit of hard work the grounds were tidied up and a new fence was put in place. This new 2 rail fence allows for easier grounds maintenance and will stand up to the elements for quite some time. To finish it all off new lights were installed. These lights were cost shared with the municipality and with the help of JC Frizzley who worked with Manitoba Hydro and Notre Dame Electric who did the work the lights are shining bright and look amazing. These are just a couple of the projects our fine volunteers have put time into this season. We are proud to have been able to get out and help the community especially with the difficulties we have all had to face with Covid-19. We were disappointed to have to cancel our Belgium Bowling tournament but it'll be back next year and be better than ever. The community auction also had to be rescheduled (with a date to be determined) and we thank everyone for their understanding and patience while we work with the other groups to try and get a plan in place for when we are allowed to have it. A big thank you to the community for the continued support. Without that support we wouldn't be able to give back to the community the way we do. We hope everyone stays safe and healthy and will be back at it in the fall after a quick summer break.

Social distancing hasn’t slowed down the kinettes! We have been doing what we can to continue to support our community’s greatest needs
