Tremblay Orthodontics 19.10.2020

As many of you may know, Phase II of the Re-Opening of BC has begun, and it is our turn! We have begun the involved process of rescheduling the many of you who have had your previous appointments cancelled by the mandated closure. Please continue to be patient, as we are reaching out to as many of you, and as quickly as possible. Please refrain from calling the office this week unless necessary, as we are working from a carefully prepared list of prioritized and missed appoi...ntments. As always, Dr. Tremblay is available by text at 250-618-3097, and we will continue to check email. Additional information regarding new office policies and procedures will be updated to this page, and are available on our website www.doctremblay.com Once again, we are thrilled to be welcoming you back to the office and look forward to seeing your smiling faces and quarantine haircuts!

COVID-19 Instructions for Tremblay Orthodontics Patients We have developed this resource to help our patients who are in active orthodontic treatment or retention during our mandated closure due to the coronavirus. For more information or for individual questions, feel free to call or text Dr. Tremblay anytime on his cell at 250-618-3097. Clear Aligners (Invisalign): ... Continue to wear and change your aligners as prescribed. If you have run out of aligners, do NOT stop wearing them. Switch to nighttime wear (10 hours a day) to hold like a retainer. If you lose or break the last aligner, call us ASAP so we can order a replacement. Braces: Continue elastics as prescribed. If you run out let us know so that we can mail you more. Brush your teeth and clean your aligners." "Be careful with eating (no sticky or hard foods) so as not to break any brackets off during this time. If you have a poking wire, trim it using a nail clipper or apply wax for temporary relief. If you have a bracket that breaks - it is OK! We will fix it at your next appointment. Put wax on it to prevent it from sliding around. Expanders: Brush your teeth and use floss threaders to keep your gums healthy." "Finish doing the last prescribed turns and STOP. Do not do any additional turns currently. We will be contacting you shortly to check in and have you send us photos of your bite that we can review remotely for the time being. Make sure to brush your teeth and keep the appliance clean." "Continue to wear your appliance full time and eating with it in as much as possible. If you were doing turns on the top piece, STOP currently. We will be contacting you shortly to check in & have you send us photos of your bite that we can review remotely. Other Removable Appliances and Retainers: If you lose or break the appliance let us know ASAP. Make sure to brush your teeth and keep the appliance clean." "Continue to wear your retainers as prescribed. Full time for the first 6 months. Night time for lifetime after that. If you lose or break your retainer let us know ASAP. If you have a bonded retainer that has come off, save it and wear your clear retainer. If it is loose, you can place some wax around any irritating areas. Make sure to brush your teeth and keep the retainers clean."

Have you run out of elastics? If so, swing by either office and pick up a sealed bag taped to the front door. If you have questions about whether you should still be wearing them, call or text me at 250-618-3097

Reposting the email that was sent out for any of whom may have missed it. To the Tremblay Orthodontic Family: In this time of great uncertainty, I want to reach out to you, and assure you that your treatment, or that of your child, continues to be a priority to us at Tremblay Orthodontics.... With the rapidly-evolving public response to the COVID-19 crisis, and the changing recommendations from Government and Public Health officials, I wanted to gather as much and as accurate information as possible. The College of Dental Surgeons of BC has mandated the cessation of all elective dental care, along with the government-mandated closure of all non-essential businesses. I remain able to, and will continue to provide care for any true dental emergencies. However, obviously, the list of 'orthodontic emergencies', that are classified as 'dental emergencies' is more narrow. Nonetheless, I am here to help with any questions that you may have regarding any discomfort you may be in. As yet, there is no schedule for our return to normal office hours. When this happens, we will ensure that you are called to reschedule any missed appointments. For many of you in active treatment, the good news is that your wires, elastics, and appliances will continue to work during the extended appointment interval. Your treatment time may not even require extending. Many of you will receive a phone call or email with a request to set up a "Virtual Appointment" with me, where we can discuss your treatment progress, along with any updated recommendations. We can also set up office hours where we would be available to hand out more elastics or wax. Your safety is of our utmost concern moving forward. We have always followed high levels of office and equipment sterilization. In the interim, there will be heightened guidelines for office cleaning, and personal protective equipment wear. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly. I can be reached at 250-618-3097. We are thinking of the many patients, families and friends that we have in the mid-Island communities that we serve. Please be safe, and stay home! Wishing you all well, Sincerely, Bryce Tremblay

To our dear patients, we are currently only able to see those with true dental emergencies in our office during this time, but that does not mean that we are unavailable to help you. Currently we have our team answering calls and emails as needed. Please feel free to leave a message, voicemail, or text to the Facebook Page, office phone, or my direct line at 250-618-3097 ... In addition, I will be available daily for a virtual visit to our office. If you are scheduled for an ...upcoming appointment, I will be reaching out to you in the week prior to your appointment, and determining your suitability for a "Virtual Visit". This can be used to ensure that your orthodontic treatment continues to progress, and that any of your questions are answered. ... We hope you and your family stay healthy and we look forward to see you in our office again soon. Sincerely, Bryce
