We spent this whole week recognizing the achievements of the 2020 Trent Teaching Excellence award recipients: Dr. Kathryn Chittick, the Symons Award Dr. Kim En...glish, the Online Teaching Award Derya Tarhan, the CUPE 3908-1 Award for Excellence in Teaching Kelly Wright, the Award for Excellence in Teaching Assistance As we wrap up the celebration, Dr. Joel Baetz, director for the Centre for Teaching and Learning, has a final message for this year's winners.

The Award for Excellence in Teaching Assistance recognizes teaching assistants who excel at encouraging learning in workshops, tutorials, seminars, laboratory, or field settings. Congratulations Kelly!

The Award for Excellence in Online Teaching recognizes instructors who have demonstrated a passion for, and commitment to, online teaching and who have implemen...ted effective approaches to fostering active learning and student involvement. Congratulations to this year's winner of the CUPE 3908-1 Award for Excellence in Teaching. Watch Derya Tarhan's (very honoured and humble) acceptance video. From his nominator: His clear lectures, relevant provided readings, patience while teaching, creative seminars, and general approachability have made the classroom a dynamic, interesting, and enjoyable environment. I feel very fortunate to have had Professor Tarhan this year because he has facilitated learning that has been meaningful and fun.
