Our GCL pump truck was the first gear on the scene. Our local Mark Marley, Rob Wilson & Jordan Vincent put the first few douses of water on the fire. We are one of a few tanks running water to the Sproat Lake Fire Department that is working so hard to keep things under control.

Coastal Campfire ban lifted at noon today!!

Crews on site... fire under control!

FY........Effective at 12 noon on August 17, 2016, campfires will be prohibited in all areas of the Coastal Fire Centre with the exception of Haida Gwaii and the area known as the Fog Zone. The Coastal Fire Centre is implementing this prohibition due to increased daily temperatures with no precipitation in the immediate forecast. This prohibition will remain in effect until October 21, 2016, or the public is otherwise notified.

We had the pleasure and honour of hosting the 39 Service Battalion this weekend at Great Central Lake. There was a very hands on, fun and informative show and tell in the morning, some water activities in the afternoon and we ended the night with a private dinner at Marleys Joint. Thank you so much to everyone that serves our country....and a special shout out to 11 Company!! We hope to see you all next year :)
