Early 20th Century Corner Barber Shop Sign $325 CAD ($235 USD) Ca. 1930 hand painted corner barber shop sign on pine boards. 19th Century Painted Two-Sided Cobbler Trade Sign $525 CAD ($400 USD) Late 19th century Canadian original black and white painted boot trade sign with small metal brackets. This piece is a nice size for display - being on the smaller side it may be easier to find a home on a smaller wall. Nice crazing to paint. Because of the good condition of the paint, it likely hung in a sheltered area when in use by the cobbler who once owned it. Measures 19 1/2 x 9 1/2 (22 x 10 with mounting brackets).

An historic 19th century painting on artist board depicting the building of the Erie Canal. Original gold gilded frame and wood backing. Some crazing to the paint but very stable with no chipping. Foxing in the sky area. Lightening in a few spots due to a drop of water possibly - paint appears slightly lighter in those couple of areas. Measures 16 x 21 framed.

Folk Art Whirlgig from Essex County, Ontario SOLD A fantastic first quarter 20th century folk whirligig of a man sawing a log. All original paint (red, white, silver, black, and aqua). This piece is in excellent working condition, made with good early materials including flat head screws. This whirligig was recently purchased from a local farm (Harrow, Ontario) and has been with the family since it’s creation. Measures 28 long x 12 tall (man) and the propeller is 23 wide.

Very Large Green Painted Slide Lid Church Candle Box $425 CAD ($300 USD) The absolute largest single-finger 19th century slide lid box I have ever found (likely a church candle box). This box has original Windsor green painted and is a whopping 19 3/4 long x 13 wide x x 14 1/2 tall. This could hold wood next to a fire place it’s so big! It has excellent patina, smoothness from use, and air burn. The large box does have paint loss and imperfections as expected - it was u...sed! It’s held together with early nails, and a few more modern ones for reinforcement. The slide lid fits well, but to make it into the back groove, the lid needs to be slid in on a slight angle with the back right corner taking the lead. There is a tiny bit of extra width toward the back of the box which is why this needs to be done (not noticeable when the lid is in place). See more

One side features a hand painted parcheesi game with flower decorations done in 4 colours (black, orange, deep orange, and red). The reverse side is Canadian checkers or draughts featuring a 12x12 playing field. Some damage and loss to the applied frame, namely at corners with splits/slivered losses. 19th Century Pantry Box with Flowers in Original Paint $350 CAD ($275 USD) plus shipping. Quite an interesting pantry box with multicolour painted flowers on lid. Great dry paint that is slightly more matte and crackled on the lid. Sides still have a bit of gloss to them but a fine crackle as well. This fine pantry box is painted a rich, dark green that has aged to a near-black colour.... Wear in all the right places. Assembled with copper nails at seams of both lid and box. Tiny wooden pins used to attach sides to base. One missing at base which makes the bottom slightly loose when picked up from that side. The end of a toothpick and some glue would secure this. Measures 8 3/4 diameter x 4 3/8 tall.
