High demand + low inventory + low interest rates + consumers getting comfortable with Covid guidelines = Home prices continue to rise

Great news - looks like CMHC will standalone in changing the insured criteria. This is excellent news for consumers putting less than 20% down.

***Hot Off The Press - Effective July 1st*** CMHC insured mortgage qualifying criteria is changing which will make it slightly more difficult to qualify. At least one buyer on an application will need a minimum 680 credit score, and qualifying ratios are moving to 35/42. ... This will result in an approximate 10% drop in buying power for those looking for an insured mortgage.
