Calling all curling fans, here's the chance to watch curling at its best as the Coronach Curling Club once again hosts the Shauna Nickolson Memorial Bonspiel this weekend at the rink. Feb 10 and 11. Come out and enjoy these sportsmen and women at their finest.

If you are looking for something different to do this weekend, come out to the Coronach Community Hall as they start their annual Smear Tournaments, Every Sunday in the month of Feb. starting at 1PM. Everyone is welcome to play, whether you are a seasoned player or just want to try something new. $10.00 each registration, inlcudes lunch served after the games. See you there.

Hey Everyone, just to clarify, the presentation at the Community hall by Heritage Saskatchewan is tonight at 7 and the workshop is tomorrow at 12:30. In the paper the dates for these got switched around and for that I apologize , but we hope to see as many as possible at the hall tonight to see the results of many hours of prep work.

Looking for a reason to get out in this beautiful weather while it lasts? Heritage Saskatchewan will be here in Coronach tomorrow and Wednesday doing a Folklore workshop on thursday at 12:30 and presenting the finished material on the history of Coal and the importance it has and does play in our community tomorrow night at 7. There has been alot of interviews and photos taken to put this documentary together. Lets show our support. Hello to all our readers on a bright sunny Sunday morning. The good news this morning according to the computer is that the worst of the winter weather and storms is supposed to be over with! Lets hope that they are right and it will not be so long till we are complaining about having to cut the grass yet again in one week. As we all get back into a routine for 2017, the cold weather has moved in once again. Just a reminder to make sure you carry a emergency travel kit in your car. It can make a difference of life or death if you are stuck in these temperatures. If you are not sure what to pack into one of these emergency kits, please contact the local fire department for guidance. Be safe as you are Out and About.

Temporary closure at Arcola Health Centre Sun Country Health Region (SCHR) regrets to announce the temporary closure of the Emergency Department at Arcola Health Centre due to lack of physician services. The closure will be in effect from 5 p.m. on Friday, May 6 to 8 a.m. on Monday May 9, 2016. We regret this announcement. We have not been faced with a temporary closure in this community for some time and intended to avoid another, says Marga Cugnet, CEO, SCHR. We un...derstand the challenges this poses for the community. We are working hard to recruit new physicians to the area. Two new physicians will arrive in the next month and another two candidates will enter the Saskatchewan program for out of country doctors in September. Residents should note that during the time the health centre services are unavailable, they should call 911 as usual for an ambulance. If they drive to an emergency department, they can travel to St. Joseph’s Hospital, Estevan; Redvers Health Centre; Galloway Health Centre, Oxbow; Weyburn General Hospital or Kipling Integrated Health Centre. This morning, as we watch the devastating fires raging in Fort Mac, out thoughts and prayers go out to all those people who have been evacuated, not knowing if they will have a home to go back to!. What a horrible thing to have to go through. May these fires soon be out.
