Shout out to Christine McKinley for taking our Festive Five Challenge to the next level! Christine spent the 8 days of our challenge trying different activities throughout Manitoba and got some pretty great pictures along the way! Christine skated, hiked, cycled, skied and ran - all outside.... Christine’s Festive Five was nothing short of adventurous as she spent some time in Riding Mountain National Park over the holidays; riding the groomed fat bike trails north of the park (Northgate), skiing a few different classic ski trails in the park and also hiking two small loops in the park. For Christine, getting outside is what helps her relax: There are so many ways to enjoy the outdoors in and around Winnipeg. While I do miss travelling to far off (and warmer!) destinations, I've really enjoyed exploring closer to home over the past months. Great job, Christine!

This year, the holidays have been a lot different for all of us, and there is no exception for Tyler Mislawchuk. This year was the first year that Tyler was not around for Christmas dinner in Oak Bluff. Instead, Tyler is spending the holidays in Victoria, B.C. and will be ringing in the New Year 2 hours after his family in Manitoba because of the time change. This time away from family isn't easy, but it was a necessary commitment to his training. Read the article down below ...to learn how Tyler is adjusting to training in a pandemic and how he is preparing for the upcoming Olympic Games. https://www.msn.com//with-olympics-approachin/ar-BB1c9lIY

At-home workouts don’t always mean staying indoors! With the fantastic weather we have been receiving lately and the weather we are expected to have over the next week, we encourage you to get out and enjoy the weather with a bike ride, a run or even a walk (all socially distanced, of course)! As Manitobans, we all know this warm weather will be short-lived! How are you taking advantage of the warm days this week?

A few months ago, we shared that we were hoping to restart our Kids Program during the next phase of re-opening. Needless to say, the numbers have not gone in the direction any of us wanted. We'll recalibrate and start planning events for 2021 - building towards the rescheduled Manitoba Summer Games. Whether that takes the form of a weekly program or more controlled clinics, our goal will always be to keep everyone safe. If anything changes, we will provide further updates. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please send us an e-mail. Thank you for your understanding.

Please join us in congratulating Megan Van Heyst and Annika Niblock who are the recipients of the 2020 Triathlon Manitoba Scholarship. This year marks 25 years since the Triathlon Manitoba Scholarship was first established. This scholarship was created in memory of Raivo Tamm to support young Triathletes who wish to continue participating in the sport while pursuing a post-secondary education on a full-time basis. This scholarship was awarded to two students this year who ha...ve excelled in competition, maintained a high level of academic standing while showing a commitment to amateur sport through their involvement in coaching and volunteer activities. Annika and Megan are both first-year students at the University of Manitoba, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavours!
