Less We Forget. Veterans Affairs Canada Needs Your Help in getting out the word. The Second World War Tribute program concludes at the end of 2020, roughly coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the end of the war. The goal is to have as many Second World War Veterans as possible receive the tribute. The commemorative lapel pin's design is based on the original "Victory Nickel," a coin circulated from 1943 until 1945 and re-issued in 2005 to commemorate V-E Day's 60th an...niversary. The coin featured a flaming torch and large "V," which stood for both victory and the coin's value in Roman numerals. Veterans Affairs Canada will process the applications of all Canadian Second World War Veterans that are submitted. For more information and the application process, please visit: https://www.veterans.gc.ca//wars-/second-world-war/tribute

Part 3 of 3 Port Moody, Coquitlam, and Port Coquitlam are celebrating Canada Day 2020 in COVID Style. Tri Cities Community TV has created a virtual Canada Day show as a perfect way to bring all the different communities together on this special day on our Canadian Calendar. Join community hosts as we take a tour around our region, meet our community champions, partners, artists and local delegates. Some music, a sprinkle of well wishes, and a look at how COVID has changed, but not dimished our desire for all of us to have a Happy Canada Day. Starting at 11am we will posted a few segments over the day, so follow the FB page, share, and sit back and enjoy. Happy Canada Day from all of the volunteers at Tri Cities Community TV.
