Robert (Bob) Allen Bieniarz (August 16, 1946 October 26, 2020) It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of Bob Bieniarz, on Monday, October 26th. He passed away at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, in Guelph, after an unexpectedly short battle with Cancer.... Words rarely seem adequate to express our sorrow of a wonderful person, like Bob, but we were recently comforted by a quote, shared with us from a dear friend, by A. Foley: The passing of a good friend, like the felling of a great pine, leaves a vacant space against the sky. Bob will be remembered as a writer and poet. He was always there to lend a helping hand to whoever needed it and was keen to strike up a conversation with anyone, but you had to keep up with his quick-wit and dry sense of humour. He was not defined by what he did for a living, but always loved what he chose to do and often found great reflection in his hobbies, writing and fishing. While Bob had many jobs throughout his life, he most enjoyed the time he spent as a keeper at the Toronto Zoo. This is also where he met the love of his life, Mary. For over 40 years, Bob has been the loving husband to Mary Hamilton, and supportive and caring father to stepsons Gary (Carrie), of Guelph, and Brian, of Ottawa. He is predeceased by his father, Alfred Bieniarz, but left to mourn, with fond memories is his mother, Julianna Urban, and the families of his brother, Gary Bieniarz with sister-in-law, Grace Elliott, his Aunt Diane, and his Aunt Wanda, all of Toronto. Shortly before his passing, Bob shared one of his written pieces with us, which we agree provides a perfect reflective tone, to help us through this difficult time: There is a sanctuary to which I shall return, either in this life or the next. It displays no parallels of latitude or longitude, no harbour or anchored jetty, nor port of call. Navigation cannot mark its location on any map. A pink coral reef surrounds its shores where palm trees sway in rhythm to the salty ocean breezes. Passports are not required and Island music is the decree. There is a white sandy beach and thatched roof bar perched on the edge of a turquoise sea, where you can find an empty bar stool and someone with a story to tell. Written years ago, Bob always knew that he would, one day, be seeking an empty bar stool, ready to tell a story. Memories of him will last in our hearts forever. Fulfilling Bob’s wishes, cremation has already taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a date to be announced. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made, in Bob’s memory, to your local animal rescue centre. Please visit Bob's online obituary notice to leave messages and condolences for his family: https://www.tricitycremations.com//robert-bob-allen-bienia

Beloved mother of the late Robert (Sally). Granny to Margarette and Robert (Christy) and great granny to Justin, Addison and Matthew. Very special aunt to Kathy , Shealyn, and Rynn Harrington, Chris and Pat Rose, and sister in law to Lionel and Colleen Rose. Born in Glasgow, Margaret never lost her accent, Scottish expressions (‘chung), or love of her homeland, even after 62 years in Canada. She treasured her family in Scotland greatly and spoke of them often, missing them with her whole heart. Her positivity in the face of everything was deeply inspirational and something a lot of us will hold onto. Even with diminishing sight, she always had a mischievous twinkle in her eye that reflected her generosity of spirit. Margaret’s sharp wit buoyed her and us. She delighted everyone with her take on daily events -personal and global-and never was she above making herself the object of her own jokes. She was a very creative and talented crafter whose expertise at sewing, knitting, embroidering was unequalled. She will be sorely missed by many in the community and in Highland Place where she and Roy resided. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service, due to the pandemic a private celebration of life will be held when we are able. Norman Kohyu Nakanishi NORM!!! Norman Kohyu Nakanishi was born on September 12th, 1977 in Kitchener and passed away suddenly in his sleep on Thursday, August 27th, 2020 at the age of 42. We are shattered that someone who was so busy living life and making plans for his next adventure was taken so unexpectedly. Loving son of Susumu and Itsuyo Nakanishi, brother to Sayaka (Colin) and Yuri (Geoff) and uncle to Cameron, Nolan, and Violet. Norm broke the mold when he was born. H...e was one of the good guys: he was compassionate, generous, crazy fun, and he would drop everything in a heartbeat to help anyone. He left a permanent mark on his family, friends, work colleagues at Brock Solutions and himself (literally-he tattooed the order number of his favourite beef noodle dish from a local Chinese restaurant on his arm in Chinese characters, just to see the reaction of those who could read it). Norm was a prankster. For Christmas, he would give his niece and nephews the best gifts. He would often hide funny random gifts such as canned cat food within the real gift or spend hours meticulously wrapping, e.g., a 5 ft tall giraffe that looked exactly like a giraffe (thank goodness his car had a sunroof). Norm loved what he did and loved his family and friends immensely. Norm’s mind was like a Rolodex and when he talked about his friends, it always started with my buddy, or my good buddy or my real good buddy. How wonderful is that? Norm had an eclectic mix of hobbies. He enjoyed trying new things and always approached life with the simple philosophy of don’t knock it until you tried it. He loved travelling, hanging out with his friends, making new friends, searching for the perfect bowl of ramen (since 1990), interior camping, air-soft, building new gadgets, ballroom dancing, motorcycling, attending music festivals... Norm even attended a psychic dream seminar; he didn’t seem to take that much away from it, other than writing the name and address of a restaurant nearby. He wrote great steaks and mushy peas. He always found the positive in everything. To our beloved son, brother/brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. We miss you terribly. We will have a private family cremation and burial service. A celebration of life will be organized in the future. We would like to thank everyone who has been so supportive of Norm and our family, it means a lot to us.
