5:26pm: Station 2 (Alma) Responding to an MVC with Auto Aid from Station 21 (Westville) with Rescue 21

Sunday March 04, 2018 8:30am. New Glasgow Regional Police, Pictou County District RCMP and RCMP K-9 conducted an extensive investigation and the 19 year old mal...e, Ahmed Salem Mohamed and his Red 2010 Mazda were located at approximately 1:00am on Sunday March 4, 2018. Ahmed Salem Mohamed and his vehicle had been located on Highway 4 near Saltsprings N.S., where the vehicle was involved in a single vehicle collision. Emergency Health Services and Central West River Fire Department attended the scene and the 19 year old male was transported to Aberdeen Hospital serious injuries. His vehicle suffered extensive damages. Pictou County District RCMP and New Glasgow Regional Police continue to investigate. New Glasgow Regional Police would like to thank the Public for their assistance for sharing the information through social media.

This is something that bothers me, it is something we deal with every day. It's not just us, Fire/Rescue, EMS, Police, Construction, even people who just happen to stop on the side of the highway. If the far lane is clear, move over to it and slow down.

Tri County Towing along side RCMP attended a single motor vehicle accident on highway 104 between exits 19 and 18A on Mount Thom. A Jeep Cherokee hauling a 29' travel trailer was travelling eastbound and lost control due to high winds causing the trailer to jack knife and land on its side. All occupants were unharmed, the vehicle and trailer sustained significant damage. The highway was closed to traffic at 5:30PM and reopened shortly after 7:00PM.
