Knowledgeable about water and boating safety (willing to obtain Pleasure Craft Operator Card) Able to follow directions (responsible to the club manager, rear commodore and vice commodore) Areas of Responsibility: Boats: Assist with lines during arrival and departure of boats Maintain dock master's office Monitor VHF radio calls, register and assign slips to visiting boats, aid with pump out of visiting boats, aid fleet captain and maintain vacancy board Docks: Daily check of docks, maintain docks as required, check river filters and clear floating weeds House & Grounds: Cut and water grass, landscape maintenance, outdoor patio maintenace, check barbeques, garbage removal and minor repairs as needed Refer major problems to manager Other maintenace tasks as needed Be familiar with the policy and procedure handbook Interacting with members and guests in a professional manner

Groupe Bénéteau announces the closure of two of their ship building facilities in France. This follows the news of the Marion plant closure in the US and represents a loss of over 1,300 jobs globally for the group. This is happening while the used boat market is booming. It will be interesting to see how other boat builders fare as the pandemic rages on. Bénéteau expects it will take two years before the new boat market bounces back.... Stay tuned...
