So excited for the Project Backpack Virtual Telethon!!! This Christmas we are bringing the community together to help families in need during the pandemic and over the holidays. Currently, Project Backpack is a program run through the Boys and Girls Club of Summerside and the purpose is to help reduce food insecurity for young people and their families. Once a week, program participants are given a food-filled backpack to bring home, that are easily assembled into healthy mea...ls over the weekend or a time when the Club/ schools are closed. With an average waiting list of 20+ people, this year there is a list of over 70 families who have asked for our support and the list is growing weekly. Our hope is to help as many families for as long as we can, especially during these hard times. The Telethon will include videos from the community along with 13 performances from very talented local Artists and Musicians. Viewers can watch the live show from the comfort of their own home and donations will be accepted online. Awesome prizes and giveaways! Please hit that SHARE button. My sister and I, singing together at our local Summerside Santa Clause Parade. We had a great time. I love seeing the smiles on everyone's faces driving by. Thanks Darren and 30 Russell for spreading Christmas Cheer through music !!! Hey! Did I mention I love being home?? ... (Thank you to everyone for your patience waiting for the parade. It was a tough year and its quite an event to organize. Thank you to all who made it happen and who took part )
